The
mission of the AIM Training Institute is to develop the
professional knowledge, skills and abilities of its students by
presenting state-of-the-art training programs, based on best
practices, in a positive learning environment.
The AIM Training
Institute was established in May 2005 by Dr. G. Roger
Jarjoura founder of the Aftercare for Indiana through Mentoring
(AIM) and Associate Professor at the Indiana University School
of Public and Environmental Affairs. The AIM Training
Institute is dedicated to providing the highest quality training
for professionals and students throughout the country.
Prisoner Reentry
Training
The
training institute offers a Prisoner Reentry Training course
that focuses on preparing professionals to work in the field of
prisoner reentry. There are two tracks to the training
institute: a general track that focuses on prisoner reentry for
adult offenders, and a juvenile track with a specialized focus
on juvenile reentry issues.
The
curriculum represents a balanced coverage of state-of-the-art
information on best practices in reentry programming, a
comprehensive assessment of the critical issues related to
reentry, and hands-on instruction in the skills necessary to
effectively serve ex-offenders making the transition to the
community.
The
training is an intensive, immersion-based experience lasting 3
full days for the general track and 4 full days for the juvenile
reentry track.
